Terms of Use

The rules for using Sorit, and what you and we agree to.

Clear terms for using Sorit

Please read these terms before using Sorit. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

Effective date: September 25, 2026

1. Acceptance and eligibility

These terms govern your use of the Sorit app, website, and services, operated by Kanary Labs. By using Sorit, you agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy. You must be at least 13, legally able to agree to them in your country, and give your real date of birth. People under 18 get extra protections: they share privately or with circles only, never show their name publicly, and are not offered adults-only missions.

2. The service

Sorit gives you a reason to take a photo every day: daily missions, missions that fit your moment, public communities whose members answer the same missions, private circles for family and friends, and your own memories. We may change, add, or discontinue features with reasonable notice where practical.

3. Your content and who sees it

  • Your photos and captions remain yours.
  • You grant us a limited license to host, process, and display your content according to the visibility you choose for each photo, and as needed to operate and protect the service.
  • Community photos are shown to people who answered the same mission, with your country or city and the local time, and without your name unless you turn that on. Circle photos are shown to members of the circles you choose.
  • You are responsible for what you share and for choosing the right visibility for it.

4. Community rules

  • Sorit has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. By signing up you agree to these rules, and we may remove content and suspend accounts that break them.
  • No nudity or sexual content, and no violent or graphic content.
  • No harassment, bullying, or hate speech.
  • No spam, advertising, or scams.
  • Do not share other people’s private information, and do not share photos of an identifiable person without their consent.
  • Do not share photos of children with public communities; keep them private or in your circles.
  • No illegal content, and nothing that infringes other people’s rights.

5. Reports, moderation, and blocking

Photos you share with a community are checked automatically before anyone else sees them, and photos that may break these rules wait for our team to review them.

You can report any photo or block anyone. When enough people report a photo, we hide it automatically until our team reviews it, and we aim to review reports within 24 hours. We may remove content that breaks these rules and suspend or terminate accounts for repeated or serious violations. Blocking hides your photos from each other in both directions.

6. Stay safe

Do not use the camera while driving; Sorit pauses its right-now mission when it detects that you are driving. Respect places where photography is not allowed and the privacy of people around you. Missions are only suggestions, and you never have to answer one.

7. License and ownership

We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use Sorit for personal purposes under these terms. The app, brand, design, software, and content owned by us remain protected by intellectual-property laws.

8. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the service or delete your account at any time from inside the app. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these terms, legal or security risk, or service closure.

9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not guarantee that every mission will suit you or that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. We are not responsible for what other users post, but we handle reports as described above.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or loss of data or profits arising from use of the service. These terms do not exclude liability that applicable law does not allow us to exclude.

10. Changes and contact

We may update these terms as the service or the law changes. We will post the new version here with its effective date, and may ask for your consent to material changes. For any question, email [email protected].
